The calm has settled in now that NYFW is over. I have some projects here in NYC so I won’t be attending the shows in Europe this season. ‘Till February! But on another note, let’s look back at my daily NYFW look!. I will also included a fun play – by – play of the week, by way of my eBay Daily NYFW Diary. You many remember last season, in February, I collaborated with Bebe’s blog Stylust to record the week’s adventures!

Let’s get into it!

Street Style - Day 1 - New York Fashion Week Spring 2014

Street Style - Day 1 - New York Fashion Week Spring 2014

Calf length skirts are one of the biggest trends this Fall, so I decided to get on the mix with this vintage shirt and skirt duo (compliments of my mom!). I accessorized the look with one of my fave heels right now: Steve Madden Marlenee camo ankle straps (get exact pair!), my all-time fave python and crocodile clutch by Khirma Eliazov (The Herzog), fun blue floral Mercura shades (closer detail here) and I finished it all off with a silk turban from my upcoming turban line!!

GET THE LOOK!

1950’s meets 2013, sleek and chic! Happy shopping : )

DAY 1: NYFW

(as seen on eBay’s Style Stories!)

My first show of the NYFW season is always BCBG at Lincoln Center, 10am. After hailing a quick cab, I was on my way! It’s never a dull moment outside the tents—there’s fabulously dressed attendees mixed with eager street style photographers—quite the harmonious mix. I got snapped several times, which is always fun.

While inside the show, I spotted singer Estelle, celebrity stylist June Ambrose perched front row with her cuter-than-cute daughter. Also close by were bloggers: Aimee Song and Chriselle Lim. The show was pure BCBG: airy fabrics, light hues and clever cutouts. So wearbable and fun!

Finalizing shows for the week!

After a bit more work on the computer, I headed to Tadashi Shoji‘s romantic show. It was all about lace dresses and beautiful gowns. Tadashi never misses a step when it comes to making women feel absolutely gorgeous!

After the show, it was time to grab a quick lunch! For a quick me up, I like PJ Clarks for their turkey burgers. Not too heavy and very tasty.

After lunch, I jetted off to one of my last shows of the day: Desigual! It was all about color, print and having fun! There was a joyful touch on everything from t-shirts to jumpsuits. Wonderful show!

Target just got ridiculously cooler. After launching their highly anticipated collab with Phillip Lim yesterday, the retail giant just announced who’s next in line for partnership: British print master, Peter Pilotto!
And the price is soo right! Most items in Peter Pilotto for Target will be under $60. There are nearly 70 pieces in the collection: $14.99-$79.99 for apparel and swimwear, $16.99-$39.99 for accessories.
“By working with Target, we’re able to broaden our reach and bring our design aesthetic to an entirely new audience,” Pilotto said in a statement.
The line will be sold through Net-A-Porter and debuts February 9! I will be there! Who else is excited?!

My New York Fashion Week Essentials

joyadaezebeauty

Fashion Week was such a whirlwind this season! Between working as NYFW contributor to both eBay’s Style Stories and Ouidad (as their curl correspondent), shooting for German TV, racing to shows across the city and updating my Instagram, busy was an understatement! This season I tried a bunch of new products mixed with old faves. Here’s what got me through the week:

1. Khirma Eliazov clutches– she is my fav handbag designer and her lux leather and croc clutches added a great accent to each of my looks. Plus, the large blue one is big enough to hold an extra pair of flats! Tried and true : )

2. Mercura sunglasses– I’ve been wearing shades by this company for the last 4 years. They fit my style so well and I am pretty much obsessed with them! Designers Rachel and Merrilee have been creating these couture shades for decades and they are geniuses. The mirrored monkey frames were a huge hit this season, making it all the way to vogue.com! (#13).

I love my Fossil watch, it’s simple and sleek. I wore these 3 gold rings (2 are from H&M) together for 1 of my looks and the result was awesome.

joyadaezeearcuff4. Kate Spade card case– Working in the fashion industry as a stylist and writer, NYFW is a huge opportunity to network. Gotta have my business cards handy and this card case from Kate Spade keeps everything organized.

5. Makeup/Beauty– I am obsessed with Revlon 24 hr Colorstay in Cappaccino. It literally stays on all day even with my oily skin! I wore it for the days I taped with German TV’s Exclusiv and it looked flawless! When I got home from a long day of shows, they’d be no need to touch up when getting ready for an after party. Definitely a fan!

CoverGirl Queen Lash Fanatic volume mascara in Very Black: this was in a gift bag and I used it when my usual staple, CoverGirl Lash Blast ran out. So glad I did! The little bristles reach my short, curly lashes, extending them their full fab potential!

MAC Up The Amp and Makeup Forever #36: staples that always look good- even when I don’t have enough time to execute a full face.

Rihanna’s Nude perfume: This was in my Black Girl Beauty box from my bloggers brunch last month. The scent is divine. New fan! Fits in any bag or clutch.

6. SkincareShea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Body Butter: Super moisturizing and smells so good! Got this at a blogger breakfast and it’s been working  wonders on my skin since.

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque: this is an old fav that helps to get the grit out of my ski after a long day (or the morning after I forgot to wash my makeup off! eek!)

Check out this super cute NYFW Essentials guide I created for Ouidad’s Blog! NEED MJ’s lipgloss : )
