Conference Call With ‘The Face’ Supermodels

Coaches and HostIf you follow me on twitter, you may have remembered last Tuesday when I had a fun conference call with 2 coaches from Oxygen’s ‘The Face’: Supermodels Anne V and Lydia Hearst. It was a fun-filled call and we chatted about everything from what they learned from the models to what it takes to be the face of a brand. Lydia had some great advice to give to aspiring models- ‘Stay driven and passionate, don’t break under pressure, be comfortable in your own skin and don’t get caught up in everything around you’. I second that!

The gals were great and I am definitely looking forward to Season 2 of ‘The Face’ tonight on Oxygen at 10pm. Naomi Campbell returns as a coach and Nigel Barker is hosting. Who else will be watching?

After BCBG Show: Asymmetrical With A Touch Of Vintage #NYFW

nyfwday1look

uniqloskirtcapwellcojewelrynigelisaiahnyfwzarabootsmercurasunglassesvintageanntaylorblazerThis NYFW season was unlike any other I’ve ever been to in my 6 years of attending. For one thing, Day 1 was my busiest day- with 4 shows (BCBG, Jay Godfrey, Dannijo, and my fave of the day: Desigual) plus one event: Peter Pilotto for Target. After my first show, I left the tents and snapped some pics. My pal, fashion writer Nigel Isaiah joined in, too!

Plus, I got snapped by Marie Claire!

I’m wearing: Vintage Ann Taylor blazer from my mom (sick option on sale from Marc Jacobs)/white tank/Uniqlo wrap skirt (I LOVE this option)/leggings (it was freezing out and these kept me super warm!)/studded boots/Joe Fresh leather bag (obsessed with this Givenchy piece)/Capwell + Co snake bangles, chain bracelet and snake ring/Mercura shades (faves from Michael Kors)

I See You, Warby Parker

Screen Shot 2014-03-04 at 10.56.26 PM

So, I’ve been wearing glasses since I was in first grade (yeah blame the genes!) From this early age, I also found ways to have fun with my ever-present accessory, playing with various colors and shapes. For the last four years, I had the same pair of vintage 1950s cat-eye-esque frames that were more high maintenance than I could manage. They needed to the adjusted every two months and finally last month they totally gave out. Bummer…until Warby. I purchased a pair for my fiancé for Christmas (yeah, his glasses had fallen apart too! What are the chances? lol). I liked his so much, he got me a pair!

I love their cool, vintage look, cat-eye and all. They’re completely sturdy and comfortable! I’m hooked.

Recently, the good people over Warby Parker reached out to share their new collections with me: Spring 2014 and Palm Canyon Collection. It’s all hot, hot, hot! Since getting my new glasses, I’m leaning towards the tortoise shell ones in the Spring collection (I’m obsessed) and the standout cobalt blue Walkers. So chic and smart. Here are my must haves:

Plus a standout from the Palm Canyon Collection:

You’ve gotta check out Warby Parker’s new Spring and Palm Canyon Collection!

Fun fact: for every pair sold, one is given to a person in need.  The gift of sight, gotta love it! (Plus, each pair starts at only $95.)
