I’m a makeup girl. I LOVE playing with color and changing up my look so when my girl celeb makeup artist Sisi Nike hosted her first ever makeup class a few weeks ago, I was front and center. And what a night! I learned everything from why it’s important to apply makeup in daylight (or at least with a daylight bulb- didn’t know these existed) to how to keep your eyebrows from getting shiny at the edn of the day. A wealth of knowledge! Sisi has done my makeup about 3 times in the past and each time I looked superb. She is awesome at what she does! After the class, we chatted about 5 of her fave products:

1. Laura Mercier translucent powder, $37. “It’s good for all complexions as well as setting makeup and touching up”.

2. Makeup Forever aqua black gel liner, $22. “This is my staple for gel liners!”

3. MAC concealer, $19. “I’ve tried different ones and I feel like MAC has really nailed down the formulation. It’s super pigmented and really covers up those dark circles”.

4. MAC “Ruby Woo” lipstick, $16. It’s definitely a staple red that I love.

5. Lashes. “I love how they really complete a look. You can go with no makeup and put on a lash. You can go with full makeup and wear a lash and it really just adds a different accent. It’ll change your life!”

Lips: Void by Angel Cherry lipstick in Alter Ego + MAC plum lipliner

When Obi and I went to Nigeria in 2013, we picked up some artwork at a market in Abuja. It was the craziest day! Obi’s brother, Kelechi, was shooting pics of me for my travel outfit post. Obi’s mom made a delicious Nigerian lunch and then we rushed to the art market. We only had like an hour before leaving for the airport but we found some amazing art to bring back to our apartment. Here are two of my fave pieces. I love my Nigerian culture : )

Loving my gorgeous light purple lipstick by my creative friend makeup artist Angel Cherry. Perfect color payoff! Check out her great offering here.
