Behind the Scenes: My “5 for 5” Stylecaster Feature!

Hi Fab Friends!

Last week I had the awesome opportunity to be featured on Stylecaster.com’s “5 for 5”. I styled a model using Theory’s Resort 2011 collection and it was so fun! My feature comes out this Thursday and I can’t wait for you all to see it! I wore an H&M dinner jacket, faux fur stole, tunic, Versace for H&M leggings and YSL booties. So festive and fun. I styled my model in a look that’works fabulously for a winter/holiday party. While gearing up for the shoot, I thought it would be fun to make paper dolls out of the linesheet.

Love!

Special thanks to Summer Krecke, Jessica Rubin and the rest of the Stylecaster team!

A Fashionable Thanksgiving!

Hi Fab Friends!

This year’s Thanksgiving was the best yet! Great food and fab family. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister: my older brother came in from Michigan with his wife and my younger brother drove from South Jersey. Its nice that even though we all grow up and life takes us in different directions- we still come together as one family for the holidays. My mom was overjoyed to have all 5 of her kids home : ). This year I made my famous turkey meatball lasagna. My fav dishes on Thanksgiving have stayed the same every year: turkey, my lasagna : ), stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie for dessert! I love to pile on the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce on one fork- a true taste of traditional Thanksgiving cuisine! So fab. I had 3 servings in a row, whew!

My Thanksgiving outfit was my definition of holiday chic. Not too overdone but worthy of a celebration. Also not form fitting so you are free to INDULGE! Notice my full H&M skirt. Also: J Crew top, H&M beret and vintage leather belt.

Looking forward to Christmas when I can get together with my entire family again!

Lots and lots of good ‘ole food : )

All Wrapped up in an African Wrap

Hi Fab Friends!

One of my newest trademarks: wearing my mother’s (I am Nigerian) head wraps and pairing them with regular “western” clothes. Back early last month after getting my nails done (by my amazing celeb nail artist Naomi Yasuda) in Williamsburg Brooklyn, I was stopped by a Brazilian photographer- Daniel Martins who asked if he could take my picture:

Thanks for the fab pics Daniel : )

Here are the nail designs Naomi gave me that day. My inspiration was none other than African prints!

LOVE!!

Some more African Inspiration from the Fashizblack Magazine shoot I styled back in March:

Jewel by Lisa dress

Jewel by Lisa skirt

L.A.M.B. top

Tory Burch dress

Jewel by Lisa top and shorts with Mercura glasses

This has been my favorite shoot to date : ) I love my African roots!
