Throughout the day my mind constantly wanders and daydreams. Mostly about fashion, art and music. Here are some of what was on my mind today.

1. Mary Katrantzou Fall 2012:

I have been a huge fan of her collection for a long time. I think prints add such a special touch to any look. I am all for print on print on print. And the added dimensions of the cape? Absolutely Gorgeous.

2. Grace Jones-Bulletproof Heart (1989)

There isn’t much that hasn’t been said about Grace Jones’ frightingly unique sense of style and beauty. Androgynous, sexy, powerful, confident.

3. Givenchy men’s leather jacket

Perfectly sleek with just the right amount of detail. Yes, please!

4. Charlotte Olympia-“Kiss Me Delores” platforms, $830

Playful and unexpected, just like me : )

5. Gaga’s September Vogue cover

Shot my Mert + Marcus and drenched in custom Marc Jacobs, Gaga has continued world domination, and I’m loving every minute.

6. Versace purse, $1,525

Delicately powder blue, exquisite detail — this bag is on my need now list.

I’ve been wearing turbans as part of my personal style as far back as high school. I love the way they look and the unique touch it gives to any outfit, everything from dresses to jeans. In recent years my turbans have become my trademark, which has been very cool! Many times I am asked how I come up with my various styles. I tie them based on my mood. I never over think it. I feel the best designs I’ve ever created (ie: my floral bow turban!) have been when I am in a mad dash to leave my apartment!

The other day I thought it would be fun to compile my favorite turban pics from the past year. I was amazed by how many I was able to find! I separated the images by the various colors of fabric: Floral, Cow Print, African Fabric, Jewel Tone, Leopard and Miscellaneous (Black, Beige & Green). I also included two turban/hat looks! Whew!!

Birthdays are such a special time for me. There’s a certain giddy feeling I always have every year when July 16th rolls around. 16 is also my lucky number! One year I was so in love with my bday that I celebrated it twice- January 16 was dubbed my half-birthday. And yes, I even had a get together for my half birthday and yes, my friends thought I had lost my mind! lol! (But I did manage to get two bday gifts from my boyfriend, score!)

As you know, I started my new job as fashion blogger for Fashionologie.com & FabSugar.com last month so I didn’t have lots of time to plan a big party. But I made sure to celebrate my special day with friends and family. So much fun!! Couldn’t have wished for a better bday!
